Expected Move Ledger, session by session

A beginner-safe guide to the ledger's methodology and coverage, stored band, completed-session path, close marker, filters, and evidence states.

In short

The Expected Move Ledger compares each session's stored expected-move band evidence with that completed session's observed high, low, and, when available, closing location. Some historical rows are reconstructed from prior-close evidence; reconstruction is descriptive, not proof that a premarket Battle Plan was published live for that date. Held, breached, not graded, and unavailable remain separate outcomes, so a missing record never becomes a held result.

01

One session record

Stored band
The indigo interval is the row's stored expected-move band. It stays fixed for that row's grade and carries no directional meaning.
Observed path
The session high and low show how far the completed regular-hours path traveled from the reference attached to that row.
Intraday result
Held means both observed extremes remained inside the band. Breached means at least one moved outside it. A breach can remain recorded even when the later close is back inside.
Close result
The close marker is a separate completed-session observation. Inside, above, below, and unavailable do not rewrite the intraday result.

Band, path, and close stay separate

The fixed band frames the completed path, while the close remains its own observation. Held, breached, not graded, and unavailable do not collapse into one result.

Text alternative

A fixed expected-move band surrounds an observed session path. A held path remains inside the band, while a breached path crosses an edge. The close is shown separately because it can finish in a different relation to the band than the intraday path. Incomplete grading evidence remains not graded. A missing record remains unavailable. Neither becomes held.

Chart, filters, and evidence table

  1. 01

    Symbol and history range

The symbol selector changes the ledger subject. The History control narrows the date view without changing any stored session outcome.

  2. 02

    Outcome emphasis

The Outcome control leaves the full chart-ready date distribution visible in the chart, mutes chart-ready sessions outside the selected outcome, and limits the evidence table to matching rows. Range-only dates remain table-only under every Outcome filter.

  3. 03

    Session inspection

For chart-ready sessions, a chart mark or a date's Inspect control can select the same full-detail record and open full detail for its band, path, close, outcomes, and evidence availability. Range-only evidence stays in its table row instead of opening detail that the record does not contain.

  4. 04

    Vol workspace return

Close detail returns to the Expected Move panel in Vol while preserving the selected symbol.

03

Evidence and honest absence

Complete session detail
The chart can compare the row's stored band, completed high and low, and the regular-hours close when each observation is available.
Range only
An older row can retain its recorded range outcome while lacking enough source evidence for the full chart detail. The missing detail remains missing.
Close unavailable
The intraday path can still be graded while the exact completed close remains unavailable. No later or partial observation replaces it.
Not graded
A row without a completed grade is neither held nor breached.
No dates or no matches
An empty date view or outcome filter describes the current selection. It does not invent a session or alter the complete ledger.
Service unavailable
A live retrieval failure stays unavailable and never falls back to demonstration history.

A beginner review sequence

  1. 01

    Session identity

The selected symbol and date establish which completed market day the row describes.

  2. 02

    Band and path

The fixed indigo interval and the observed high-to-low path answer different questions: the row's distance context and realized session travel. The ledger-level reconstruction disclosure sets the publication boundary.

  3. 03

    Intraday and close

The held or breached result remains separate from the later closing location.

  4. 04

    Evidence state

Range-only, close-unavailable, not-graded, and unavailable labels set the limit of the record.

  5. 05

    Across-date context

Several completed sessions can provide descriptive context without turning past containment into a claim about the next session.
